"Continuing Education": A Song for Every Student-Teacher

"Continuing Education" is a song that I made for my final assignment as a student teacher working on my master's degree. My professor told me to create some kind of artifact that would demonstrate my core beliefs about education, and she was cool enough to let me decide what form the finished product should take.

I was tired of writing essays and making PowerPoint shows after two years in grad school, so I decided to make a standard-length rap song with three verses (16 bars each) and two choruses (8 bars each).

(Here's a picture of me hard at work in the very professional studio that doubles as my bedroom.)

I borrowed the backing track from the song "914" produced by Pete Rock, so whatever you do, please don't try to pay me any money.

Also, if you can spot the quote from an N.W.A. song, then you've earned yourself a gold star.

Just click the SoundCloud link below if you want to give it a listen.

Enjoy!
